Riverside, CA. (Press Release by Derek Schuett / John Lee High Fly’N Photo) – Darren Hagen stole feature wins in the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series at both Valley Speedway and Lucas Oil Speedway, sweeping both nights of the Missouri Mid-State Midget Nationals, and strengthening his points lead.  Piloting the Austin Brown owned, Esslinger-powered BOSS Chassis, Hagen would wire the field Friday night at Valley Speedway, leading the entire event after an already dominating heat race performance.  “Everyone I surround myself with, they are the best in the business,” Darren stated after the Valley Speedway win.  “This is a testimony to how good these guys are and a testimony to the car.”

At Lucas Oil Speedway for Saturday night’s competition, Hagen would again take the heat race win.  Starting inside the third row of the 30 lap main event, Darren was on the move at the drop of the green flag.  Already in the second position by lap six, it was clear the Austin Brown-owned entry was on a mission headed for the front.  Three laps later a caution would bunch up the field, giving Darren the opportunity to strike.  As the field resumed green flag racing, the #17 Esslinger-powered BOSS Chassis would take point coming off turn two and never look back, holding the lead for the remainder of the event.  “I’m very, very blessed to be in the opportunity that I am,” said Darren.  “I couldn’t say enough about this race team.  Austin Brown had me come drive for him with BOSS Chassis, Flea, Corey, Chris, and everybody on this team.  Without these guys, my job would be really tough.”

Darren will be back in action this weekend at Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois on Friday, May 8th and St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington, Missouri on Saturday, May 9th.
